About Us
Advocacy to Alleviate Homelessness (AAH) is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization that provides resources and education to alleviate homelessness in Wake and surrounding counties in North Carolina.
Our goal is to assist working individuals, families, and veterans whose working wage does not allow the opportunity for affordable housing.
AAH’s main function is to provide client resources and tools designed to meet their individual needs through our program services:
-
Financial Education and Literacy Program: Offers financial guidance and goal setting, plus credit review and assistance
-
Victory Program: Provides temporary hotel shelter (pending available funds)
-
Housing Assistance Program: Assists individuals on SSI, SSD, or Vouchers seeking rental properties
Our Approach
Using a hands-on approach to attain assessments and goal setting techniques such as instructional videos and financial assessment tools partnered with conversing and education, yields improved outcomes towards client empowerment and revitalization.
When a client feels cared for and believes that building a true and lasting relationship comes from a genuine place, self-esteem builds, internal and external barriers are alleviated, and the core cause of homelessness is revealed.
